Satellite TV Components

There are certain components that are common to all satellite TV systems, no matter how large or small their particular scales are. Here are satellite components presented in list form:

The signals are created at their source as a combination of various channels that provide the programming for a particular provider's broadcast. Satellite companies such as DirecTV or Dish Network pay stations (such as HBO or MTV) for the ability to broadcast their channels to home subscribers. The individual channels are all bundled as one signal for transmission.

The signals are then transmitted by the broadcast center, which is actually the system's central hub. The signal is transmitted to the provider's satellite, which is located in the Clarke orbit (also known as geostationary orbit).

The provider's satellite then transmits the signals to the subscribers.

The satellite dish of the subscriber will then receive the signal, focus it into the feedhorn, and send it through the LNB to the receiver.

The satellite receiver then extracts the desired channel from the lump of received satellite signals, converts it from digital to analog form, and then displays it on the television screen.
