HH motorized satellite mounts

H-H Motorized Mount - This is a motorized antenna (parabolic satellite dish) that is made to work with small or medium sized satellite dishes.

The H-H motorized mount is used to change of the position of the satellite from east to west to receive signals from satellites that are stationary and positioned within the Clarke orbit. Only one coaxial cable is needed to install most HH mounts and connects the LNBF and the mount. The purpose of this coaxial cable is to pass data between the LNBF and the HH mount.

The HH motorized mount does not need its own dedicated source of power because it gets the power from the receiver through the coaxial cable.

HH motorized mounts do not have to be moved manually. After the mount's system has been programmed with the satellite positions, all you have to do is switch to the channel you want to watch, and the motorized H-H mount will point the dish in exactly the correct direction.

An HH motorized mount is not useful for pointing the parabolic antenna at satellites that are positioned in inclined orbits (i.e., not in the Clarke orbit). You would need to get a second motor for this so you could change your antenna's direction in two dimensions.

When installing a motorized mount, be sure to position it so it will track the satellites from east to west along the Clarke orbit.

If you incorrectly align the HH motorized mount and parabolic antenna, you'll only be able to track part of the arc of the Clarke orbit and will consequently only receive signals from a few of the many possible satellites.
