Why use a C-band satellite TV system?
Did you know that a C-band satellite dish system
will give you the fullest choice of television programming available
-- and at the the very lowest monthly cost to you that is possible.
Satellite services like the Dish Network and DirecTV only have a
limited number of channels that can be broadcast with their systems,
but C-band and
free-to-air
satellite programming is only growing.
The C-band part of the electromagnetic spectrum is in the frequency
level between 3.7 and 4.2 GHz, and is always having new and interesting
channels broadcast over it from all over the world.
Getting Started with C-band satellite programming
If you want to get started with C-band satellite entertainment,
you'll need to buy a satellite dish that is at least 6 ft. (2.3
m) in diameter -- and if you can afford to get a bigger dish, your
reception quality will only improve. Free to air receivers
are also necessary. This equipment and more detailed information
about what is actually required can be found at the vendor listed
in the blue box at the top of this page.
Advantages of a C-band system
- You'll pay less for your programming than with any other
system
- You'll get around 200 completely free television channels
and around 100 satellite radio stations -- many more are possible
with a bigger dish
- You can access any TV satellite at which you can point your
dish
- There are many, many companies from which you can buy programming
- New channels are added all the time
- There is sports, international, and adult programming from
all over the world
But is a C-band satellite TV system really for
you?
If, though, you're only looking for a better version of the channels
you already watch with your cable television access, and you don't
want to learn too much technical information, we recommend that
you go with a satellite system from either
Direct TV or the
Dish Network.
Both of these DBS operators are giving away a free satellite
system (including a free 18" dish and up to five free receivers)
to new customers.
